This was the feedback from one of the warehouse workers at the Electrolux Logistics Italia distribution center in Porcia (Pordenone) during one of the first progress meetings for the El.Vis platform almost a year ago. El.Vis, or Electrolux Visual Shipments, is the system developed after an internal competition and has been transforming the management of Electrolux’s distribution logistics warehouses in Italy.

Here’s What El.Vis Does

El.Vis performs a complex task and makes it immediately understandable: it estimates the expected docking time at the loading bay, forecasts crossing times, schedules loading bay commitments according to forecasts and priorities, monitors progress at each internal step, and provides real-time visibility to all involved, including drivers. It continually reschedules workloads based on gathered information. The system is intuitive and maintenance-free, allowing operators to continue their tasks with enhanced decision-making support.

Training is Quick and Intuitive

“What we are very proud of is that El.Vis simplifies complex processes. The interfaces are intuitive, and after just 10 minutes of training, anyone can make informed operational decisions,” says Pasquale Lanci, CEO of Oltre Solutions. The Bologna-based start-up developed this software solution, which has significantly improved logistics hub management worldwide. “Since the beginning of the year, we have reduced average throughput times by 25%, established KPIs for carrier performance, and negotiated more favorable conditions with carriers. The integrated SMS messaging system alerts drivers when it’s their turn, eliminating the need to ‘chase’ them around the yard. We plan to expand this system to Europe next year and integrate it with our legacy systems,” adds Cristina Baccichetto, Logistics Market Manager Italy. This success story emerged from the Electrolux Open Innovation program, launched four years ago by Lucia Chierchia’s team, continuing to generate value.
